The Situation Before Our Intervention

Premier Telecom was operating a rental-based business model for high-value products through their Shopify store. While their physical offerings were solid, their online experience was creating friction. The main issue was that high-ticket items didn’t show any rental pricing on the product pages—only the full purchase price. This made customers unsure about affordability and created a psychological barrier to engagement. The default “Add to Cart” flow didn’t support rental behavior. There was no way for customers to ask about rental options or request a quote easily, leading to missed leads and lower conversions. The client was effectively flying blind with no structured way to capture or follow up with interested rental customers.

Solving the Problems

To address all of these issues, we engineered a custom Shopify enhancement tailored to the client's rental model. Here's what we did:

  1. Dynamic Rental Price Calculation

    We implemented logic that automatically calculates and displays a monthly rental estimate for any product priced above a certain threshold. The rental amount is based on a configurable percentage of the full product price, and it updates in real time when the customer changes product variants like size, model, or configuration.

  2. Alternative Action Flow

    Instead of pushing all users to the rigid “Add to Cart” flow, we introduced a secondary call-to-action: a “Rent This Item” button that opens a customized contact form. This gave users a soft entry point to engage without full commitment.

  3. Lead Capture & Integration

    The form automatically captures customer data, including product of interest and selected options. This information is passed directly to the client’s sales backend, enabling quick, personalized follow-ups and quote generation.

The results were both immediate and impactful:

  • Increase in Rental Inquiries

    The visibility of rental pricing and the dedicated inquiry form led to a rise in qualified rental leads in the first month alone.

    Customers could now see what they could afford at a glance, interact with the pricing dynamically, and reach out easily. Time spent on product pages increased, and bounce rates dropped.
